Day 1: Arrival Cancun - Puerto Morelos

You will be met at the airport in Cancun by Pieter, founder of United Amigos. He accompanies you to the supplier's office, where you can pick up the car and gives you the necessary tips and tricks to enjoy a pleasant and worry-free journey.

The first ride goes to Puerto Morelos, a small quiet fishing village that has not been affected by the mass tourism of Cancun and Playa del Carmen.

Casa Falabella is run by Pieter and his Mexican girlfriend Fabiola. Enjoy your first night in a spacious, comfortable king size bed. The room has its own bathroom, air conditioning and terrace to enjoy a nice glass of wine together.

Day 2: Puerto Morelos - Valladolid

We start this day with a visit to the beautiful cenote Verde Lucero, where the local monkeys welcome you and always keep an eye on the cenote as local guards. Take a refreshing dip or drop into the water via a zipline.

The ride continues via the "ruta de los cenotes" (road between Puerto Morelos and Leona Vicario) towards Valladolid. Along the way you pass several (still authentic) Mayan villages, where time seems to stand still.

Optional visit to a rancho.

After arrival in Valladolid you can leave the suitcases in hotel Mesón de Marqués, your accommodation for 2 nights in Valladolid. Then, you can optionally visit the colonial town.

Day 3: Valladolid - Ría Lagartos - Las Coloradas - Ek Balam - Valladolid

Early morning departure to Ría Lagartos, the most beautiful nature reserve of Yucatan. Along the way you will come across local villages, but also several "ranchos" that are owned by large landowners with hundreds of cows.

During this private boat trip (2 hours) our local English-speaking guide takes you along the mangroves in search of crocodiles. We also observe a number of flamingo colonies with numerous albatrosses and birds that are specific to the region.

The tour continues to Las Caloradas, the huge salt mines that turn the waters pink. We stop briefly to take some nice pictures of Las Coloradas before returning to the nice fishing village of Ría Lagartos.

In the afternoon Ek Balam is on the program, the impressive Mayan ruines from which you have a beautiful view of the vast jungle.

Day 4 Valladolid - Ruins Yaxunah - Chichen Itza - Izamal

In the morning you will leave with our English-speaking guide to the unknown ruins of Yaxunah. Imagine yourself as a real Indiana Jones and climb to the open plain where new ruins are exposed every month on this site. Our Maya guide speaks passionately about how his ancestors lived here.

After the visit to these beautiful ruins, the tour continues to the village where you can first take a dip in the peaceful cenote. Since we are in a remote place here, chances are that you will have it all for yourself. Then we continue the visit a village withlocal Mayan population, that has not been affected by mass tourism.

Meet the local "bakery", where you can see how tortillas are made. We also stop at the studio where hammocks are made and you will experience a live demonstration.

The ride continues to Chichen Itza, one of the wonders of the world. On site you can optionally hire a guide who can also tell you fantastic stories about the Mayan civilization.

We spend the night in Izamal, 2nd "pueblo mágico" of Yucatan.

Day 5 Izamal - Merida

In the morning you will enjoy peace and quiet in the village. We recommend a tour in a horse-drawn carriage to get to know this magical village up close. The beautiful monastery is the symbol of the city and requires sufficient time.

Subsequently, a Mayan wedding ceremony is optionally possible. The ride then continues to Merida, the largest colonial city in the entire Yucatan peninsula. There is something to experience in this wonderful cultural city every day. If there is still some time left, you may enjoy a pleasant evening stroll through the city, with its neo-classical buildings and cozy squares. This unique atmosphere is known by the "Ciudad Blanca", or white city.

Day 6 Merida - Cenotes from San Antonio - Uxmal - Campeche

Early in the morning, after a nice coffee, we will explore the fantastic ruins of Uxmal. The first stop is the rural community of San Antonio Mulix and the two cenotes, where you can refresh.

Subsequently, we will visit Uxmal with a private English-speaking guide. Classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage, this Mayan site surprises everyone with its detailed architecture and decorations, all in a wonderfully preserved state. You'll get free time on the site and afterwards the possibility to visit the ecological cocoa museum. The ride then continues to Campeche. Here it is definitely recommended to walk through the city with a camera in the evening and enjoy the sea breeze on the malecon.

Day 7 Campeche - Calakmul

In the morning you will have a quiet breakfast in one of the cozy bars. Then we set course for Calakmul. This beautiful reserve is unfortunately skipped by the large masses, but is actually an unknown gem. Here one finds one of the highest Mayan temples and you can see the monkeys swinging happily above you.

Day 8 Calakmul - Bacalar

In the morning you wake up with the sounds of the jungle in the background. We are now in the middle of the Yucatan Peninsula. Depending on time, we may optionally take a boat trip and dream away on the beautiful Bacalar lagoon. Free evening

Day 9 Bacalar-Tulum

Today will be a quiet day. Enjoy the morning and take photos of the lagoon with any water activities. Afterwards the ride continues to Tulum.

Day 10 Tulum - Sian Ka’an reserve - Tulum

Today, this full day is dedicated to a visit to the Sian Ka’an bioreserve. You should not miss this World Heritage Site during a visit to Yucatan. Get to know a fantastically beautiful ecosystem, explore the crystal clear waters and the beautiful fauna and flora of the reserve with a boat under the guidance of an English-speaking guide. From Muyil we go to Chunyaxche, Canpelchen and the Boca Paila lagoons. In the afternoon we enjoy lunch at the reserve. After that we'll visit the museum and the butterfly garden.

Day 11 Tulum - Puerto Morelos

After Chichen Itza, we go with an English-speaking guide in group to another very special place: the prestigious ruins of Tulum overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Short after, we get to know the wonderful underwater world of Tulum and swim with the giant turtles. Lunch box included.

Around 3 o'clock we start the return trip for a stay in Puerto Morelos. Now there will be enough time to enjoy the residence with access to the communal swimming pool. You could optionally have meals delivered to your home.
