In the morning we make an extensive city tour of Merida, where we visit the main square with the cathedral and the famous avenue of the city, paseo del Montejo, with all kinds of beautiful mansions. Then, we visit one of the most beautiful Mayan ruines of Yucatan. Everything here has been preserved in an unbelievably good condition. We will do this visit for 2 hours under the guidance of an English-speaking guide. Afterwards we'll optionally visit the Uxmal chocolate museum and you can judge whether Belgian chocolate remains the best in the world. We then continue to Campeche, followed by a short city visit. Day 5: Campeche - Calakmul
Calakmul will not immediately ring a bell with many. Close your eyes and hear the monkey sounds and all the other birds that call the jungle their home. After a short walk, the various ruins suddenly appear. The highest temple has an amazing view of the dense jungle of the state of Campeche. Our local English-speaking guide will give you a complete explanation of these beautiful Mayan ruines.

Day 6: Calakmul-Bacalar
Bacalar, with its beautiful, large lagoon will pleasantly surprise you all. In recent years, this destination has been gaining more and more popularity, so now is definitely the right time to enjoy Bacalar. In the afternoon we take a boat trip on the lake and enjoy a real Mayan bad (mud that makes the skin much softer). Free time in the afternoon.
Accommodation: Posada Palmar
Day 7: Bacalar - Tulum
For many, Tulum will be at no. 2 of must see places during their visit to the Yucatan Peninsula and rightly so! El Castillo, or the castle, is a mythical place, that really appeals to the imagination. High above the ocean, this building still stands as a guardian of eternity. Feel the wind while you enjoy this fantastic place. Our English-speaking guide explains in great detail about Tulum, which means walled settlement in the Mayan language. In the afternoon you can enjoy Tulum's beautiful beach.
Accommodation: Sol-Ha Tulum
Day 8: Tulum - Puerto Morelos
In the morning we visit the cenote Verde Lucero, a cenote in the ruta de los cenotes that has not been affected by mass tourism. Let yourself swing in the water via a zip line or make friends with the local monkeys, who are constantly playing around. In the afternoon we go snorkeling in the second largest coral reef in the world (after the Great Barrier Reef). The big difference with other places is that the waves are broken by the coral reef here, which makes it very pleasant to snorkel for young and old. The bottom is visible and gives you the feeling of having landed in a huge aquarium, where you can see different stingrays and types of fish. With a bit of luck you'll also spot giant tortoises.
Accommodation: Gota de Sal
